Rick Flowers' Amalgam-X

Rick Flowers is a singer-songwriter based in Madison, Wisconsin. His music blends elements of soul, pop, folk, funk, and jazz, and his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics have earned him a growing following. Ricks work as the cowriter and producer on the Rob Dz Experience album, Soul Anthems, received critical acclaim and ranked #12 on the Isthmus top 25 Madison pop albums of all time. (2010). He's excited to announce that he is close to finishing his new album, The Surrection of Arvon Floroq’. The album will be available on all major streaming platforms soon.

Rick grew up in a musical family and started playing piano and saxophone and writing songs at a young age. Although Rick is well recognized as a premier drummer and he has had the privilege of sharing the stage with notable musicians such as Freddie Hubbard, Richard Davis, James Williams, Charles Brown, Mary Stallings, Javon Jackson and Mel Rhyne, Rick's first instrument was the piano. Audiences have been really enjoying Ricks’ reacquaintance with the piano, and his creative stylings are like fresh air. Rick’s formative years makes him well versed in the funk and soul idioms. His eclectic taste in music is evidenced by the wide variety of the type of songs he writes. He draws inspiration from a wide range of songwriters, from classic icons like John Lennon, Prince, Joni Mitchell, Curtis Mayfield and Prince, George Clinton & Carol King, to songwriting teams like Ashford & Simpson, Elton John & Bennie Taupin. When he's not writing and recording, Rick loves to perform live and connect with his fans, and it is a joy to watch him perform.

With Rick on Keyboards/Bass and vocals, Kevin Carnes on Drums, Meleo Robinson on Guitar, Lord Yancyy -Sax Chakari Daezhare- vocals, Rick Flowers’ Amalgam-X is an experience that fuses “ Funk, Soul, Rock, and Jazz with an experimental attitude”, that’s guaranteed to make you dance, sway your head from side to side, shake your groove thang, and have fun.
